All DSLRs and also the lenses have UV filters on them to limit the amount of UV light. A UV screw on filter will not help image quality at all (but it used to help some in the film days.) Most people buy them because it keeps the front element brand new and its easy to clean. Lots of budget UV filters don't filter anything (not even UV) and sometimes cause artifacts.
