Just wanted to share how noisy this camera is when taking video, if you don't use the video, the camera is good, I think. Why would Olympus produce a noisy camera, at the same time it records sound? My cell phone is a better video camera than the Olympus SZ-11.

canon 7d shot hong kong disneyland's "let it snow" christmas parade 2009

canon 7d shot hong kong disneyland's "let it snow" christmas parade 2009 Video Clips. Duration : 3.48 Mins.

i had used my rapid fire gunstock shooter a couple of times and i find it works the best when shooting with wide angle lens. however, even with the additional help of a z-finder, slight body movements or hand shakes can sometimes be magnified to almost unacceptable levels when shooting with heavier or narrower angle of view lenses like my ef 24-70mm 2.8L lens. but then, having invested in and used the rapid fire, i could appreciate the added stability offered by the tactical shooter due to its extra point of body contact as support and lower center of gravity to take some "weights" off my right hand. therefore i ordered my tactical shooter upgrade kit last week. i received my upgrade kit from zacuto on friday and decided to put the upgraded tactical shooter into test yesterday by shooting the "let it snow" christmas parade in hong kong disneyland. the entire footage was shot with me standing in the audience using an ef 70-200mm 2.8L lens on my handheld canon eos 7d body. video was captured in 1080p/25p mode. audio was captured separately using my olympus LS-10 recorder installed on the zound hotshoe. although this video has a length of only about three and a half minutes, the source material is close to half an hour. the whole system was held in my hands for 30 minutes and stability was achieved entirely by the zacuto gear. besides pluraleyes, post production was entirely done in final cut studio 3 on a 2008 macbook pro. no filters or grading have been performed to keep ...

Olympus 50mm f2 Macro Noise

Olympus 50mm f2 Macro Noise Tube. Duration : 1.87 Mins.

A lot complain about the noise of the Olympus 50mm f2 Macro - and are waiting for a quiet SWD model to be released. I personally don't find it noisy at all, and so put together this short video of the sound it makes. I suppose it does sound terrible compared to the Olympus 50-200 SWD which I also record - which is impressively quiet, although think that my friends Sigma 50-500 is even quiter. For the sound recording, I was holding the Olympus E-3 with lens attached - only inches away from the built in camera on my Macbook. The sound of the 50mm lens is far worse than it sounds when working with it. Maybe I'm just used to the 50mm and drown out the sound, but I really think that it isn't that bad until you happen to compare it side by side to something like the quieter SWD lenses. What I can say is that I sure wouldn't do without this lens in anticipation of a quieter model coming along - - - just because of the noise (or the speed for that matter - which I also don't find to be a problem in most cases)

Olympus E5

Olympus E5 Tube. Duration : 1.10 Mins.

DISCOUNT tinyurl.com Customer Reviews: "I've shot with lots of cameras over the years. Olympus cameras are an enigma. When you shoot with them you realize that they have weaknesses(well publicized) to other brands, but you also quickly realize they have plenty of strengths as well. The biggest strengths are things that go unnoticed on a spec sheet: Exposure, white balance, color reproduction, and image clarity and sharpness. And a JPG engine that gets it right directly out of the camera so you don't have to spend hours making your photos look right. You also get in body IS that works on every lens, and a superior weatherproofing system that includes the body and the lenses. The E5 is a perfect blend of everything Olympus has learned up to this point. It's not on the cutting edge of sensor technology, or movie making abilities, but it absolutely delivers in every sense of the word. Of course the build quality is spectacular. You can take this camera anywhere, anytime and not worry about it. Picture quality is amazing. It's hard to describe properly but the images have a clarity I haven't really seen before. And I've shot with Canons and Nikons as well. Noise control is the best of any 4/3rds camera yet. It's up there with a D300s and a 7D. Not quite as good but not enough to make a real difference. It's expensive of course, but you know you want it so just get it over with and buy the darn thing. It's worth every penny in my book. Great job Olympus." "The Olympus E-5 is ...

Olympus Behind the Lens: Dean Semler

Olympus Behind the Lens: Dean Semler Video Clips. Duration : 3.68 Mins.

For most people, "Secretariat" is a compelling, feel-good story that charms, whether you are a horse-lover or not. Secretariat won the US Triple Crown in 1973, the first racehorse to do so in 25 years. The recently released motion picture based on actual events puts you right into the action and even more exciting, showcases how advanced Olympus technology played an important role in making this film. The compact size and HD quality of the Olympus PEN camera offered the ability to capture a horse race from vantage points that had never been done before. Olympus PEN cameras were mounted on the ground at the starting gate, as well as on the jockey's helmet and glove, the horse's saddle, a pole right next to the horse's feet and in dirt around the track, capturing moments of authenticity and extreme close-ups of the intense racing action, and shots illustrating speed and dirt, excitement and chaos. Not one PEN broke during the filming; further proof that Olympus products allow you to "capture it all." Check out this Olympus "Behind the Lens" video, bit.ly featuring the film's Academy Award-winning Director of Photography, Dean Semler, to learn more about how the PEN was used in this remarkable film.
